My first attempt at carving/engraving a skull properly, and I'm very happy with how it turned out!
This particular skull came from my old college roommate who knows about my bone collecting, who dropped it off to me as a gift some time ago (bless her), and I carved and engraved it using a dremel tool!
I used a stain on the engraved parts of the pattern to give it contrast, plugged that hole in the back of the skull the spine attaches to ( the foramen magnum if anyone wanted to know the anatomical name ) with a two part epoxy, sealed the whole thing, and planted a single Hen and Chicks plant in the cranium!
This is definitely something I would love to do again- I'm sure I'll be using other damaged skulls for similar things in the future!
